When do I need to apply?

There are two intakes per year. The deadline for receipt of applications is normally the end of June for Autumn intake and the end of November for January intake. 

What are the fees?

See Student Information - Finance for current fee information.  The fees for 2010/2011 are £6120 for the MSc programmes and £3120 for the BSc Programmes, plus the appropriate Study Materials fee (see below).

What is the study materials fee?

A fee (2010/11 rates are £500 for MSc, £200 for BSc and £50 for IOSP)  is charged for study materials - which may be paid in full, annually, or termly.

Can tuition fees be paid by instalment?

Yes, you may set up an instalment plan to pay by two instalments per year.  Fees are charged on a course credit basis.

Are there scholarships or bursaries available?  

See the University's website for details of any information on awards, allowances and loans that may be available to you.
Students registered on the MSc Occupational Hygiene or the MSc Safety, Health and Environment programmes may be able to apply for a British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) bursary.  BOHS bursaries are awarded twice each year, in January and July, and they can be worth up to £4000 towards programme fees.  Further information on BOHS bursaries can be found here.

When do I register?

Online registration and re-registration starts in September.  Check the web for exact dates

Do I need to attend the University?

Study Schools are held in September and January each year but attendance is not compulsory.
Exams for some programmes are held in the UK but you may choose to sit exams overseas.

Do I need to attend induction?

No, you don’t need to attend the University induction.  Registration is done on-line.

What  exams are there?

One subject is examined in the BSc (Hons) Occupational Safety, Health and Environment programme (Environmental Industrial Management).

There are exams held twice a year (in November and May) for MSc Project Management, MSc Construction Management & Economics, MSc Facilities Management and MSc Real Estate distance learning students.

MSc Safety Health and Environment and MSc Occupational Hygiene courses are not examined.

Can I sit exams overseas?

Yes, you may choose to sit exams at an overseas venue (for example the British Council) but you’ll need to pay venue hire and invigilation costs.
